What a fantastic event the RADFLY LITERARY LUNCH was on Saturday 20 October 2018. We were privileged to spend time with the very talented and charismatic Trent Dalton and it was only too appropriate that the RADFLY Patron Chris Nyst , of Nyst Legal, introduced Trent, and Georgia Lane from Women of Influence for an interview style chat.
There were so many synergies between Trent and Chris: they are both incredibly talented writers and story tellers, both have written and produced movies featuring iconic Australian actor David Wenham, and both are generous and kind gentlemen.
With well over 100 guests at RACV Royal Pines Resort, the event was at full capacity and buzzing with excitement to meet the author of ‘Boy Swallows Universe’ which has been described as ‘An Australian Classic’.
Trent shared stories of his journalism career, and the unconventional life that made him the man he is and that this incredible novel is based on.
RADFLY President Naomi Middlebrook shared the wonderful milestones and news regarding funds raised from their activity this year. Guests were also treated to delightful music by young musicians from All Saints Anglican School, a touching story from Arcadia College student, Katie Burke and an abundance of prizes from our generous sponsors.
