Terms and Conditions of Entry.
The RADFLY Youth Art Prize is open only to residents aged between 15 and 25 from the Gold Coast City and Tweed Shire areas.
Entry is free.
Entry is limited to ONE entry only per artist. Previous winners are eligible to enter.
Entries open 28 July 2017.
Entries close at 5.00pm Friday 22 September 2017.
Entry must be original artwork by the submitting artist, not breaching any copyright.
Submissions will be accepted at the discretion of the RADFLY Committee.
2. ARTWORK SUBMISSION
Please submit an image of the artwork with the entry form as follows:
Digital images should be less than 2 megabytes, saved as jpeg.
3. PRE-SELECTION & DELIVERY OF FINALIST ARTWORKS
Artists will be required to deliver their artwork to the City of Gold Coast Council Mayoral Chambers, 135 Bundall Road, Evandale, on Friday 13 October between 9-12pm.
All art work must be framed and ready for hanging with string or wire. Stretched canvas is considered to be framed. Sculpture and works in other mediums are to be discussed with Naomi Middlebrook (mobile 0408 981 393) prior to delivery at Evandale. If you are unsure please contact Naomi before lodging your entry form.
The art work must be identified on the back or base with artist’s name, phone number, entry title and price (if applicable).
An Artist’s Statement (150 words max) must accompany the entry form. Any entry that does not include this requirement will not be accepted.
Artists may also provide a CV (1 A4 page max.) – optional.
All artwork in the RADFLY Youth Art Prize Event 2017 will be exhibited at the City of Gold Coast Mayoral Chambers on Friday 13 October during the Art Event from 6-9pm. If entry is for sale it will be offered on the night to guests attending the Art Event.
The artwork will be judged on the night by 3 Judges and may be awarded to any work in any media. The winner will be announced 13 October at the RADFLY Youth Art Prize Event. The Judges’ decision is final and no discussion shall be entered into. $1500 First Prize.
$500 People’s Choice Award will also be awarded on the night.
7. ARTWORK SALES
Artists may offer their work for sale at the event. All finalist artwork sales are subject to 20% commission with all proceeds going to RADFLY in support of YHES House and Ohana For Youth.
All care is taken but the organisers will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to artworks at the exhibition or in transit. It is recommended that the artists insure their own artworks.
9. COLLECTION OF UNSOLD FINALIST ARTWORK:
Unsold artwork must be collected at the end of the RADFLY Youth Art Prize Event at 9 pm on Friday 13 October 2017. Exhibited entries may not be removed prior to this time.
